Carry the quiet beauty of the field forget-me-not — when Emil Korsmo (1863–1953), Norwegian agricultural scientist and professor at the Agricultural University of Norway, published his Unkrauttafeln (Weed Charts) between 1934 and 1938 with illustrations by Knut Quelprud and Sara Mørk, Plate LXVIII gave Myosotis arvensis and Anchusa arvensis the most scientifically rigorous and visually precise botanical portraits in the history of Scandinavian agricultural botany: the front cover documents the Field Forget-me-not with complete botanical detail — fibrous root system, characteristic scorpioid cyme, hairy leaves, and small nutlets — while the back cover presents the Small Bugloss with its deep taproot, bristly stem, curved flowering stem, and four-lobed nutlets, together offering a complete portrait of the blue-flowered Boraginaceae wildflowers of the Norwegian agricultural landscape.
