In 1904, Ernst Haeckel published the final plates of Kunstformen der Natur — Art Forms in Nature — with master lithographer Adolf Giltsch, creating chromolithographs that transformed microscopic organisms into art and helped inspire the Art Nouveau movement across Europe.
